About Us

We started as Puggle Puzzle and have grown into The Charred Plank. We wanted a name that would encompass all our passions. We create many of our products with our large industrial sized laser cutter. Combining our artistic techniques with this amazing machine, we have created exciting, beautiful products. We love using our creativity to produce stunning signs, art and puzzles.

We started our business as Puggle Puzzle designing wooden jigsaw puzzles. Phoebe created the artwork for all our puzzles. The feedback we’ve had from these has been amazing and we look forward to creating more. All the art on all our products is done by us, Phoebe and Rupert.

Rupert has a passion for woodcraft. He’s learnt a Japanese technique called Shou Sugi Ban where the wood is burnt. It makes the wood stronger and brings out the beautiful patterns made by the natural grain of the wood. Our couples name signs and wood mosaics are made using this technique.

We will continue to explore and bring exciting new products to our store. We put a lot of time and love into all our products and we feel very privileged every time one of our products is purchased.
